About Us
HISTORY
Peace Blossoms Internal Arts Society is a non-profit, non-sectarian, and non-political recreational club with the mission of promoting and integrating peace and harmony in the myriad activities of daily life since a life lived in radiant peace blesses one with the natural treasures of health, wealth, success, and prosperity.
Such mandate Peace Blossoms seeks to achieve especially through the promotion of internal arts, primarily Tai Chi and Qigong, in achieving holistic health for the self and the community.
Peace Blossoms is the present name of the original elite Tai Chi organization Blue Dragon Society International, Inc. (September 2002 to January 7, 2008) which Mr. Rudolph Petalver founded in September 2002 and registered with SEC in October 21, 2002. Mr. Petalver was given dispensation by his primary Master AMN to form the group. Mr. Petalver also acted as the Chair and President of Blue Dragon. The mission of Blue Dragon then was to promote preventive health through the regular practice of Tai Chi, qigong, energy-centering exercises, and other internal arts.
In 2008, Blue Dragon was renamed Spring of Harmony Internal Arts Club International (January 8, 2008 to February 6, 2010) where Mr. Petalver and his senior students were made the core group and Mr. Petalver acted as the Chair. Ms. Irene Chia, the primary leader and main link to Mr. Petalver was the Treasurer. Spring of Harmony was registered with the SEC in December 24, 2008. Spring of Harmony was renamed Peace Blossoms Internal Arts Society in February 2010 (February 7, 2010 to present). Peace Blossoms is a recreational club and as such, it is not SEC-registered.
While adopting a new name, Peace Blossoms carried on and expanded the mission of Blue Dragon. The change of name marked the transfer of full management to the core group by Mr. Petalver so he can have more time for NGO or development work after leaving the monkhood. He nevertheless remained as the consultant and one of the senior instructors of Peace Blossoms who is tapped from time to time to handle some sessions. The core group with Irene Chia, Director of Peace Blossoms, and Antonio Delgado, President of Peace Blossoms, committed to actively sustain the activities of Peace Blossoms.
Under Mr. Petalver’s leadership, the entire Tai Chi System (Exercise, Healing, Meditation, Martial Arts, Philosophy, Way of Life, Recreation, Culture) has been made accessible to enthusiasts and the general public. Tai Chi is now more known to different groups and sectors because of various continuing promotions in mass media, demonstrations, seminar workshops, trainings and free regular sessions. The major styles of Tai Chi and related internal arts routines can now be learned even without the usual prerequisites and traditional patronage/endorsements.
Several of Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi programs have been introduced and popularized after Mr. Petalver personally invited Dr. Paul Lam[1] in July 2005 to the country, even serving as patron for the participants to be accredited as Tai Chi for Arthritis instructors. Music has been expanded to likewise include nature sounds, classical and Enya music, and instrumental and relaxing rhythms. Attire is not limited anymore to just the formal and Chinese wear. Advocates and a new breed of instructors and assistants have also been developed.
From 2002 to 2007, Blue Dragon laid the foundation for Tai Chi and other internal arts. It conducted public seminars and workshops on human development and prosperity consciousness in partnership with ULEN Systems International. Blue Dragon passed on the torch to Spring of Harmony and from January 2008 to February 2010, Spring of Harmony popularized Tai Chi through promotion in mass media, participation in public demonstrations and exhibitions, and provision of free regular sessions.
The transformation of Spring of Harmony to Peace Blossoms reflects a growth in the club's role in the midst of greater need and advocacy for peace in Philippine society and the world in general. Everyone is challenged to become a spring of harmony through a multiple of ways, but most especially in radiating thoughts, feelings, intents and energies of bubbling peace profound. Such radiation, when amplified by others' radiation, creates an energy field of creative peace that makes positive things happen.
Peace Blossoms is a next-level challenge as it is a positive affirmation. As a next-level challenge, it calls every advocate of peace to be pro-active, creative and zealous in injecting daily life with the manifold faces of peace. As a positive affirmation, Peace Blossoms indicates that peace efforts and initiatives done by individuals and sectors in society already positively result in situations, by-products, conditions and developments that further promote and make fertile the space in which peace can manifest in greater creativity, happiness, health, wealth and success.
With such intent, Peace Blossoms seeks pathways and reach out to diverse groups in society in the spirit of humanity and goodwill as it actively promotes Tai Chi and Qigong in harmonizing body, mind, spirit and emotions in oneness with Nature and the Cosmos.
From 2010 onwards, Peace Blossoms Internal Arts Society not only carried on with the mission of Blue Dragon. It also built on the innovations, programs, promotions and activities of its predecessor in promoting a healthy and positive recreation and lifestyle thus promoting community public health and preserving and promoting an age-old legacy and living heritage that is the Tai Chi system.
